1913 - 1916
Vespa was fonded in Modena by Clemento Antonelli and built a small car starting in 1913 under the brand name Vespa 8 HP. This vehicle was powered by a 1458 cc 4-cylinder engine with over 20 hp and a three-speed gearbox and shaft drive. These small cars even were quite successfully when participating in car racing. The outbreak of the World War I, caused production to ceased in 1916. Vespa Piaggio manufactured small cars from 1958 to 1961 by the company.
