Garabello
1903 - 1929
Garabello (Fabbrica Motocicli F.G. Garabello, Alba, later Luigi Comini, Torino) was a motorcycle manufacturer of high quality bikes. The founder, Francesco Giovanni Garabello, began with the build of 240 cc and 480 cc single cylinder bikes and in 1922 a bike with a water-cooled 984 cc four-cylinder engine and a shaft drive. This machine was popular indeed, but the production costs were so high that in 1924 the Garabello factory had to close.
A year later, however, again a four-cylinder Garabello appeared at the show in Milan. This was produced at the Comini firm in Turin. In 1927 there was a water-cooled 175 cc single cylinder, but only produced until 1929. That machine was admired, but the still too high production costs forced Comini to cease production in the early thirties.
