Rubino
1920 – 1923
Rubino was an Italian automotive manufacturer based in Netro with operations in 1920 through 1923. Ernesto Rubino founded this company as an offshoot of the Officine di Netro. Rubino offered a suitable car for mountain routes under the name Tipo Unico. Fiorentino Lamberti, a former employee at SPA, was the designer of this model with a 2297 cc capacity 4-cylinder engine. The drive took place through a 4-speed transmission and a drive shaft to the rear axle. Because of many unforeseen events, the car did not go to mass production. In 1923, the manufacturing equipment was bought by a Turin group of companies.
In 1924, they founded the company Tau run by the managing director Pietro Scaglione. Between 1924 and 1926 approximately 100 vehicles were produced.
