Eurocross

Hiro (Hiro Motori SAS) is an Italian brand of motorcycles and engine builder. This brand of motocross and trial bikes was founded by the successful rider Andrea Mosconi. He initially built motorcycles under the brand Eurocross (Not to be confused with the Dutch Euro-cross mark).
Mosconi had liked the future of Sachs cross blocks, but was not satisfied with the engines at that time they were delivered, therefore he opted for 125 cc Aermacchi engines.
In 1969 and 1970, these engines were used exclusively, but Aermacchi - now owned by Harley-Davidson - stopped the deliveries the 125 cc units.
In 1973 Mosconi, under the Hiro motorcycles name, came to market with his own blocks. These were probably the first cross blocks that could be started in gear. Hiro quickly specialized on the supply of 125 cc and 250 cc cross blocks for other brands such as TGM, Ancilotti, Aprilia, MAV and GKD.
In 1976 the company merged with Aprilia, but remained under its own name and continued to produce engines, complete cross, trial and street engines as well.
