The Italjet Grifon 650, the model 1969, is a motorcycle equipped with a Triumph T120 was available in two versions: "Daytona" and "California

1959 -

Since 1959 Italjet has developed more than 150 different and innovative models. Motorcycles and motorbikes designed with an entrepreneurial enthusiasm which has remained unchanged since the foundation of the company, up to the third generation, at present striving to consolidate the national and international image of the company.

1972 Italjet Buccaner 125

The company has been kept together and managed for over forty years by the Tartarini family, whose members have always tried to develop their business coherently following the philosophy of innovation, which is today the trademark of Italjet in Italy as well as worldwide.

The basics of this philosophy are simple: to innovate, to be the trend-setters, to be always in the forefront, one jump ahead of the competitors.

"It's an attitude that comes from competitions, where you must be determined to reach your own objectives, always anticipating your antagonists", explains the founder Leopoldo Tartarini. And this determination, together with the enthusiasm and passion for the world of motorcycles and engines in general, has been handed down to the new generations not only through chromosomes, but also making them breathe it with the air, and cultivating it through the example and the memory of his great sports undertakings.

To mention just a few of them: the success in the race Milano-Taranto in 1952 and 1953, the victory in the race Giro d'Italia in 1953 and 1954, the world tour in 1957 (five continents, 42 countries in 13 months), the three world records with the Cyclecar in Monza in 1969.

In 1972 Italjet started importing and distributing Yamaha. Thanks to this business co-operation the Buccaneer 125 was created. It was equipped with a twin cylinder 2-stroke engine and it won the Italian Junior Championship in 1973, 1974 and 1975.

Today

Italjet starts again to be a motorcycle brand intended for those who look for power and lifestyle. In Milan the past edition of Cycle and Motorcycle offered two proposals that aesthetically belong to the ones we would have expected from a brand like Italjet that today is born again but under a new dimension, where the new collaboration with Hyousung brings a technological contribution to the Italian or better still Emilian creativity, of Italjet. The new Grifon 650 will arrive then; it won't remain a prototype and it will be in good company. It will be placed side by side by... another 650 expected to stimulate the lovers of mixed tracks, a little on and a little off road. The two models will open this new season introducing themselves with a style and design made in Italjet as usual. Among the two models we will see the Dragster proposed again, motorized by Piaggio, another mythical Italjet product that Tartarini and Ferrandino call again to the most aggressive scooter riders' attention; as well as the Minicross bikes, that, for the record, appeared in the world scene more than twenty years ago thanks to the genius of Leopoldo Tartarini. And this can be enough to start again saying that Italjet has arrived till today not only for its innovative ideas that few other companies have had, but also because it has offered opportunities to talk about the two wheels to whole generations, from children to grown-ups. The motorcyclist's undefeated spirit, that with every weather and in every historic time has always triumphed was born and conveyed thanks to Italjet, too!
