1950's
Colombo was a a motorcycle prototype. In 1950 The Italian designer Ercole Colombo made a standing 250 cc single cylinder engine. A year later they had a finished bike. The machine had no valves, but a spinning drive for the mixture and the exhaust was loaded and unloaded. The disk was driven by a bevel.
