Adriatica was an Italian manufacturer of farm machinery that had a road racing team in 1979 and built its first own motorcycle, a 125 cc twin tandem. The machine was designed by Jan Witteveen, who later would create a furore for the manufacturer Aprilia.
The 250cc Adriatica GP twin is an interesting device. Note the crossed rear swing arms and rear damper position. The hollow aluminum spars carried the fuel, and the chassis was designed by Alessandro Strada and Dervis Macrelli. The engine design was by the Dutch tuner Jan Witteveen who designed the 125 Gilera MX engine. Source
