1923 - 1926
D & C (De Stefani e Conti) was founded in 1923 by Vittorio Conti and friend Tullio De Stefani. They opened a factory on the outskirts and west of the city of Tolentino (Macerata), with the help of a worker, assembled a suitably modified bicycle motor using an old Faini engine. The engine, recovered in a warehouse, was a single-cylinder two-stroke 125 cc, Eisemann magneto, Longuemare carburetor, two-speed chain driven transmission with a rear brake. This motorcycle, from July, 20 1924 on and ridden by Vittorio Conti, raced at the Race of the station at Tolentino, the Circuit Chienti Race of Power, The Ring of Macerata and others, who participate in races through 1932. Thanks to the many successes of Conti, they were contacted by the Faini Brothers and Lecco dealer to race at the Race of Abruzzi.
In 1926 the two friends felt the time had come to realize their old project, thus began the Fabbrica Italiana Ciclomotori D & C, the initials of their surnames. They presented a touring bike called the MD 3 with a sidecar, using a Della Ferrera two-stroke 125 cc, rounded cylinder, maxi power of 3 HP engine, two speed transmission with wide ratios and a maximum speed was 70-75 km/h.
In 1926 Vittorio Conti payed out the ownership portion to the shareholder (De Stefani) which did not allow for updates, improvements and new builds for models with their own brand.
