1912 - 2002
Atala was a producer of bicycles, especially for racing, founded by Cesare Rizzato in Padua.
Since the beginning of the 20th century they supported a team of cycling, by participating in the first editions of the Tour of Italy coming to win the unusual competition for teams in the 1912.
Atala, founded as a bicycle factory, began building motorcycles before the war using JAP and Blackburn engines . After the war they produced a number of mopeds with engines. In 1977 Atala was taken over by Rizzo, who continued with the same name and the production of motorcycles.
After the victory of several world championships in 80s the company has experienced a period of crisis, being sold by the family Rizzato in 2002, forming the new group Atala, owned by a group of entrepreneurs in Milan and Banca Antonveneta. It is currently owned by the Turkish company Bisiklet Bianchi, where almost all the production takes place, and with the famous Italian brand in Turkey.
Today in Turkey produces mainly bike walking with various lines, but imports from the China accessories, spare parts, and articles for the fitness.
Motorcycles
From 1938 to 2002 was the major motorcycle production with small displacements engines and some models were powered by electric motors.
