1923 - 1940
Ancora (Tacchini & Pracchi later Pracchi & Co.. Ditta and Umberto Dei & Co., Milano (1923-1939)) manufactured motorcycles in Milan and in 1923 launced with a motor bike using a Villiers two-stroke 147 cc engine in a Touring and Sport version. In 1924, a new model come out with an Villiers two-stroke 247 cc engine, while in 1926 they produced a model with a 122 cc two-stroke, a model with 172 and a 247 cc two-stroke engine.
In 1927 models were: the tip 175 and 250 cc, in normal versions, sport and race, while in 1928 there was a 122 cc moped and two with 147 cc and 172 cc engines. Complete the range of two models 250 cc and 350 cc engine with two-stroke Villiers with three speeds.
In 1931, they produced a bike with a three-speed engine and a 175 cc Villiers.
Umberto Dei took over the company in 1936 and concentrated on the production of 60 cc, 74 cc and 98 cc. From 1936 the machines were also sold under the brand Dei.
In 1936, a single model with a 250 cc two-stroke engine was build. In 1940, they offered an Anchor with 175 cc two-stroke but soon after the doors closed.
