1905 - 1906
FRAM (Fabbrica di Rotabili Avantreni e Motori) started in 1905 took advantage of the experiences that E. Cantono had made since 1900 with electric drives and building on the knowledge of an earlier company in Rome. He made changes to the front axles of carriages and swapped them to an electric drive unit. Powered by an electric motor, the car consisted of two parts, the front section with two wheels and the motor and the rear section (effectively a trailer) with two wheels and seats. Thus arose buses and passenger cars. These vehicles were produced from 1905 to 1906 in Rome. In 1906 they moved the production to Genoa and continued development of their rather unconventional cars. They had ceased trade in Italy in 1906. From 1904 to 1907 these vehicles were produced in Canton (North America) by the company Cantono Electric Tractor Co..
