The "Cartanfruit" prototype, driven by the Italian [[Giuliano Mazzoni]], won the FIA Alternative Energies Cup 8 times. This car, built by the amateur Tanesini, equipped with 3 electric motors with a total power of 150 kW, corresponding to 200 hp, is capable of a speed of over 200 kph. By comparing the results (circuit or hill-climb races) with the results achieved by the endothermic cars, we can see that this electric vehicle is faster than many traditional race prototypes. | The "Cartanfruit" prototype, driven by the Italian [[Giuliano Mazzoni]], won the FIA Alternative Energies Cup 8 times. 1997
The "Cartanfruit" prototype, driven by the Italian Giuliano Mazzoni, won the FIA Alternative Energies Cup 8 times.
Was the technology a hybrid system with superconductors or lithium-ion batteries? None of these, the Tanesini Cartanfruit, brought on behalf of Team Selene used batteries...heavy lead/acid. Incredible!
