Fiertler Louis
Fiertler Louis, born in Cosenza (1909-1970), was a unique character in the sports car of Calabria fifties, the ability to engage with his family, almost inexhaustible energy, worked dealer's how to workshops for car manufacturer Alfa Romeo and how to prepare a sports car. During the war, while stationed at the airport in Reggio Calabria as an airman, he even managed to build replacement parts then unavailable.
Ingenuity and passion for speed
Remains a small masterpiece made the Lupetta, jewel of design and technology: a small spider, low, close to the ground, aggressive enough to encourage sporty driving, forerunner of the current minicar. Passion for whole nights devoted to the preparation of sports cars which participated in the racing, the Mille Miglia, the Giro di Calabria, the Giro di Sicilia and hillclimbs. Sweet-tempered, open and available, even if sometimes strict and had created a hotbed of student apprentices who still remember him as "a good teacher."
The Lupetta was conducted based on a technical feasibility study, which thesis in the of his younger brother, Julius Fiertler (1921-1974), the Polytechnic of Turin (1949/1950 academic year). This work confirms and certifies the functionality of an intellectual work that has had its greatest expression in Raid Reggio Calabria Milan.
