The Fiat 1 or Fiat 1 Fiacre was produced by Fiat from 1908 to 1910, it had an engine capacity of 2200cc, which produced 16hp and a top speed of 70 km/h.
The four cylinders were in a single block for the first time, taking cue from the Italian car manufacturer Aquila Italiana.
They produced around 1600 copies of the Fiacre and intended to use the model for taxis and sold not only in Italy but also in other markets like New York City, London, Paris and other cities.
In 1908 Fiat founded Fiat Automobile Co. in the United States.
Production Facts
The Fiat Tipo 1, also known as the Fiat 12-15 HP, was an automobile manufactured by the Italian Fiat company from 1910 to 1915.
In 1910, Fiat reiterates its full range of passenger cars and inaugurated a new name: Tipo. Thus, at the same time the were delivering the Tipo 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 and 6.
The Tipo 1 is a car class that was fitted with an 1847 cm3 engine developing 15 hp. It was divided into several series:
- Tipo 1. Its 4-cylinder engine ushered in a new format never experienced before, the piece, according to a patent for an illustrious Italian brand has disappeared: Aquila Italiana. 2521 copies of this series will be manufactured between 1910 and 1912.
- Tipo 1 Fiacre would be made in 961 copies.
- The Tipo 1A, built in 1912, was an evolution of the Type 1. It retained the same engine as the Type 1 but with an increased to 18 hp. 1373 copies were produced until the war in Italy in 1915.
- Tipo 1T was presented in 1920 and 1316 copies were made until 1922. Designed specifically for taxis, this car would be highly sought after not only in Italy, but also abroad; Fiat equipped fleets in London, New York and Paris.
