TEAM HISTORY

At the end of his career in Formula 1, despite his involvement in numerous activities, Piercarlo Ghinzani could not resist the fascination of the motorsport so in 1992 he created his own team.

The original goal was to pass on his enormous experience to young drivers wishing to face motorsport competitions in a professional way and with a winning attitude.

For this reason, throughout all these years, he has always seeked talented drivers and it is no chance that some of “his” drivers have even entered Formula 1 and that others have reached the the top in various international FIA championships.

Team Ghinzani has competed for several years in Formula 3 and Formula 3000 championships, both in national and European series, acheiving victories and podiums, accumulating an enormous experience on all international tracks. This experience and the team’s professional attitude motived the A1 Grand Prix World Cup of Motorsport’s choice of calling them to represent the Italian national team, thus creating the Team Italy A1 Grand Prix.

Amongst all the drivers that have raced with us, we would like to point out a few, such as : Phillip Baron, Thomas Biagi, Niki Cadei, Robert Doornbos, Gabriele Gardel, Paolo Montin, Alex Müller, Alvaro Parente, Edoardo Piscopo, Luca Rangoni, Paolo Ruberti, Michele Spoldi, Enrico Toccacelo, Jeffrey Van Hooydonk and many others.
