The Scuderia La Fortuna was originally founded in 1963 under the name of Scuderia: Formula Libre. During the years 1960/70/80 the cars belonging to the Scuderia were used for circuit racing and not rallying, and they took part in national as well as international racing. When big sponsorship entered the race world, the amateur had hardly any chance and due to the professionals the atmosphere of kind-heartedness changed into cold calculated racing and so Scuderia La Fortuna retired.

In 1994 the Scuderia returned, now with oldtimers under the new name Scuderia La Fortuna. The aim of the Scuderia is to promote the brand of Abarth without any commercial intentions. It is completely driven by passion, admiration and love for the brand created by Carlo Abarth. The Scuderia is composed of an Abarth Fiat 500, an Abarth Fiat 695, an Abarth Monomille, an Abarth OT 1300 and an Abarth 030. Every year the Scuderia participates at numerousness national and international rallies to promote the brand and it has become quite famous in the oldtimer world.
