Kappa are a Italian sportswear company founded in Turin in 1916. They are known internationally for their sports kits, particularly for association football teams.

During the mid to late 1990s Kappa tracksuits became associated with Chavs (or Neds in the United Kingdom and “Kappa slapper” becoming a well-known derogatory term for females associated with this subculture.
