The Gilera DNA was a modern hybrid between a scooter and motorcycle.

Gilera produced it in 50cc, 125cc, and 180cc variants. While the DNA looked like a conventional motorbike, it featured the automatic 'twist and go' capabilities of a scooter along with electronic start and helmet storage space. The helmet storage was in the 'dummy fuel tank' that sat in the place of a fuel tank. The actual 9 litre fuel tank is fitted inside the bike's body paneling and is filled through the 'dummy tank'. The 50cc bike was limited to a top speed of 31mph, the 125 was capable of 68mph, and 180cc topped out at 78mph. The RRP of a new 50cc OTR bike is £1.999.

This model was discontinued by Gilera in 2003 and replaced by the Gilera Runner, available only in 50cc.
