The RST1000 Futura is a motorcycle made by Aprilia for the purpose of Sport-touring. The Aprilia RST 1000 Futura was new for 2001. It is equipped with a V2 four stroke liquid cooled engine producing 113 horsepower (85 kW) at 9250 rpm and 96 N·m (71 ft·lbf) of torque. The bike is set up with a 6-speed transmission and is chain driven. This bike also has electric start and fuel-injection from the factory. The bike came off the factory line at the dry weight of 210 kilograms (463 pounds).

The bike's bulky and angular shape divided critics, some thought it was innovative and made it "look like an F-117"; some said it was just too bulky. Other manufacturers began using similar angularity in their designs only a few years after the Futura was announced and some (e.g. the 2002 Honda_VFR800 or Interceptor) even used almost identical ergos. The BMW K1200S is also said to have adopted many of the angular style cues introduced by Aprilia, along with other BMWs.

Due to rather poor sales, Aprilia is going to revive the Futura by giving it a new, 1200cc engine.
