The Amilcar Compound was a modern front wheel drive car produced shortly before WWII by Amilcar and designed by the famous French engineer Jean Albert Gregoire. It made intensive use of aluminum, but the war shortened its career.

Production began about 1936 but ended in 1939 due to the war after only 600 had been built. Approximately 150 Amilcar ambulances were later built using the same frame.
