Continental AG, or Conti for short, is a manufacturer of tires, brake systems, vehicle stability control systems, and other automobile parts based in Hanover, Germany.

Continental manufactures tires for cars, trucks, bicycles, and agricultural machines. They sell tires under the Continental and General brands to automakers such as BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, and Porsche. Through its ContiTech division, the company produces power transmission systems, engine and suspension mounts, and vehicle interiors. Its Continental Automotive Systems division also makes electronic brake and traction control systems.

Continental recently acquired a controlling interest in Temic, DaimlerChrysler's automotive-electronics business, which is now part of Continental Automotive Systems. The company also purchased German automotive rubber and plastics company Phoenix AG, and the automotive unit of Motorola.

The company was founded in 1871 as a rubber manufacturer.
