Astoria

1934 - 1958

Moto Astoria (1934-1958) were motorcycles designed and produced in Milan by ex-racer Virginio Fieschi with the collaboration of Alfredo Bianchi. These machines are carefully decorated with four-speed Burman gearbox and a foot pedal. In 1935, using models on its own engine design with the same general characteristics. This brand would disappear from the market in 1936 to resume activities in 1950, always at the initiative of Fieschi.

In that year a 125 cc Villiers two-stroke engine followed by two versions equipped with an original engines build by the company and almost all designed by Alfredo Bianchi, who later would design engines for Aermacchi and Parilla. Alfredo Bianchialso was the engines designer for Aermacchi, built nice two stroke 160 cc and ohv singles from 124 to 246 cc. He also produced a 174 cc ohc and a twin cylinder 500. The Astoria used also Villiers engines for a model produced in 1950 and produced a 250 and 500 in various versions, using the Ajax engine built by AJS.

Until 1954, light motorcycles were made of 149, 169 and 199 cc two stroke, four stroke, while leaving the 125 cc range models alone. In 1954, cane the Motoleggera with a 175 cc four-stroke engine, distribution through pushrods and rockers, telescopic front fork and swingarm rear suspension. In 1955, it carried a 169 cc version with pushrods and rocker arms, camshaft in the head and also a 150 cc two-stroke engine. In 1957, they added a 175 cc, four stroke in different versions and a 150 cc two-stroke, plus a three-wheeler, with engines of 50 cc. Moto AstoriaItalic text, based in Milan-Affori, ceased production in 1958.
