Kumho is a South Korean industrial conglomerate ("chaebol") consisting of various business groups, including aviation, finance, construction, transportation, chemical, and tyre manufacture, headquartered in Seoul, Korea. It was once known as Samyang Tire.
Kumho Tire Company (KHTC), which is one part of the group, has its headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, with manufacturing facilities in South Korea (three plants), and China (three plants). Kumho tires are exported from Korea and China to all countries around the world.
Kumho Tire Company has a global network of sales organisations and three centres for research and development. The principal R&D facility is in Gwangju, South Korea. Centres in Akron, Ohio, USA and Birmingham, UK service the US and European tyre markets respectively. The company manufactures tyres under the Kumho and Marshal brands in a full range of tyre sizes.
