Prof. Dr. '''[[Ferdinand Porsche]]''', better known by his nickname "Ferry" ([[September 19]], [[1909]] in [[Wiener Neustadt]], [[Austria]] to [[March 27]], [[1998]]), was an automotive designer and engineer and founder of sports car manufacturer [[Porsche]] AG, he was the son of [[Ferdinand Porsche]].
 
 
 
Ferry had been a a significant contributor to the development of original [[Volkswagen]] [[Volkswagen Beetle|Beetle]] and the [[Auto Union]] [[Grand Prix]] race car of 1932.  In [[1947]] he founded the Porsche company in Gmund, Austria and began developing their first sports car, based on the Beetle design, which eventually was called the Type [[Porsche 356|356]].
